Please carefully read our Terms and Conditions. All clients must read and sign yearly before services are rendered

  • MoKan Pet Care (hereafter referred to as "MKPC", collectively "we" "our", and, "us") employs extensive safety and sanitary precautions to ensure your (the "client" and/or "pet owner") pets safety and health. Despite reasonable and prudent efforts in all situations, grooming equipment is sharp and there is always potential for accidents, including cuts, nicks, scrapes, and quicking of nails. If an urgent injury occurs we will contact you (the owner) and if need-be, deliver your pet to the nearest veterinary clinic if not otherwise stated. Should veterinary care be necessary after services are rendered by MKPC, we must be notified within 48 hours of such care. Reimbursement for such care will be at the sole discretion of MKPC.

  • We cannot sedate pets and must be informed if you have given your pet any medication before our visit. This is absolutely necessary for the pet and our safety. It is your responsibility to notify MKPC of any new medical information. If we uncover evidence of a health issue while grooming your pet, we will advise you of any further recommended actions. All pets must be free from transmittable illnesses (i.e. upper respiratory, ringworm, etc.) to utilize our services. If your pet displays symptoms of any illness we may refuse any service until your pet is declared healthy by a veterinarian.

  • MKPC will not subject any pet to unacceptable levels of stress. If during the grooming process your pet finds any part too stressful, that part will not be completed. Pets that are aggressive or easily stressed may not be safe to groom. If at any time we feel we cannot safely complete the grooming process we will return your pet to your care. We will not put a pet in harms way to complete a groom. Payment will be due for the portion of the groom that was completed (time involved). Under no circumstances can we guarantee the completion of a groom. Each pet can react differently each time they are groomed. We groom each pet to the owner’s specifications, as far as the pet will tolerate and the coat condition and type allows. We will always place a pet‘s welfare, safety, and peace of mind above adherence to a particular style. In case of being unable for any reason to groom to the exact style wished by the owner, we will contact you and agree upon a suitable alternative style.

  • We understand pets can become matted and may require a complete shave to resume a normal grooming schedule. This should always be a last resort. Severe matting generally causes skin issues and sores that will be exposed when the coat is removed. MKPC does not assume any liability for issues resulting from having to shave a pet down that is considered matted. Further, we reserve the right to determine when a matted coat may be de-matted. It is your duty to maintain their pet’s coat between professional grooms and we are always more than happy to show you how to look after your pet’s coat. As the pet’s owner you agree that MKPC shall not be held liable for any cuts/nicks/grazes or any post-groom effects caused whilst removing a matted/neglected coat. These effects may include, but are not limited to: itchiness, skin redness, or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing, licking or scratching.

  • We recommend keeping your pets on flea and tick preventative year-round as recommended by your veterinarian. If your pet is found to have fleas they will be treated with Capstar which kills the fleas on the pet for 24 hours at a cost of $15. If multiple animals are brought in to receive our services we will automatically treat all your animals. In the event your pet is found to have extensive flea or tick infestation we may cancel your appointment and you will be subject to an incomplete appointment then will be charged 75% of the service price. Additional charges may apply if we need to quarantine and/or perform additional cleaning of our facilities and equipment, or your pet’s carrier and its contents.

  • Pets that are considered senior or geriatric are at even higher risk for injury during the grooming process. You should not expect a “show level” groom in this instances but rather what we call a “comfort groom” (i.e. shaving instead of de-matting, or short one length all over so grooming can be less frequent). While we will make every effort to keep every pet comfortable, elderly pets will be allowed to sit and lay down which will make the groom process more difficult and can cause uneven hair lengths. When elderly pets become stressed or uncomfortable we will return them to the pet owner in an attempt to reasonably avoid injuries.

  • The grooming van is approximately 22 feet long and needs height clearance of at least 12 feet, and a level surface to park on. Adequate parking must be available to provide services. If there is any construction or changes in access to your home we must be notified at least 24 hrs prior to appointment. We will not move the van once the pet is in our possession.

  • First appointments require the owner to be present at the beginning of the visit at a minimum. We understand that the appeal of mobile grooming is the flexibility, however we want to be sure the owner is available in case of emergency or questions regarding the pet. For appointments going forward, latch key services are available.

  • For latch key appointments we ask that the pet is kept in a safe contained area. If the pet is free in the house and runs to stay out of reach after 10 minutes of trying, we will consider the appointment canceled and will have to charge a cancelation fee.

  • It is your responsibility to inform us if there are any changes in haircut instruction for the pet's appointment. Unless otherwise stated we will assume the haircut instructions are the same as last visit and must be relayed to us before haircutting begins or additional fees may be charged.

  • To minimize distractions for both the pet and the groomer, we ask that after the pet is taken to the van, any communication be via text message. Response time will vary, if it is an emergency, please call and do not text.

  • If after the groom is complete, there is anything about the groom that you would like altered, please advise us before we leave. We are never offended by timely requests to make minor changes, so please ask. After 24 hours of completion of an appointment, if you wish to have a us return to site, there may be additional fees.

  • We accept credit cards via Square invoicing sent at the end of the work day. Check or cash is also accepted, due after completion of service. Please make check payable to MoKan Pet Care. Please note, we do not carry cash to make change!!

  • Appointment times are an estimate! We will send a confirmation message 24 hours before your appointment. We will text you an ETA day of the appointment, and will contact you asap if we are running more than 1 hour behind.

  • Cancelations within 24 hours of the scheduled groom will be subject to a fee of $50 (PER PET CANCELED). This fee must be paid in order to rebook or keep your next appointment. We understand life can get crazy so we try to avoid charging fees for reasonable emergencies but we reserve the right to discontinue future service if multiple cancelations occur within a six month window.

  • No call/No show (no answer/no access) appointments are responsible for 100% of their appointment cost and will not be booked after 2 occurrences.

  • We reserve the right to cancel grooming appointments based on current or projected weather at any time. MKPC headquarters is 20 miles south of KC on a gravel road. Even if the main roads are clear, the country roads are often not. Icy roads, excessive snowfall, extreme temperatures, and/or high winds can create unsafe conditions for the van to be out traveling to appointments. If area schools are closed due to weather, MKPC will most likely close or delay services for that day. You be notified of cancellation as soon as the decision is made and will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
