Can you tell me how much it will cost to groom my pet?
I can’t give you an exact amount until after I have worked with them the first time, as prices depend on many factors. I have starting prices here for dogs. Cat baths start at $80. If you would like a closer estimate, you can text or email with a recent photo of your pet and we will give you our best guess but cannot guarantee a price before the first service.
What days/times are you open?
I offer appointments Tuesday-Saturday 8-5PM
Emergency appointments available for additional fee on Sundays and Mondays. Contact for more info
How long does an appointment take?
While I try to keep the pet's time on my table to a minimum, I focus on quality over quantity and take my time to make the pets look their best! For the more anxious or senior pets, I am sure to keep them comfortable taking care of the important stuff first and worry about the details last.
Most small dog and cat haircuts can take 1.5-2 hours
Large dog haircuts can take up to 3 hours, depending on coat type and requested haircut.
Baths only usually take less than an hour for pets less than 50#.
Do you have a weight restriction?
If they are able to get through the door in the tub, I can groom them! However I am not superwoman and if the dog is too large and heavy to get safely into the tub OR the van itself, it probably isn't meant to be.
What areas do you work?
I currently service south Kansas City, Belton, Raymore, and Peculiar on the Missouri side and SE Overland Park, Leawood, and Prairie Village on the Kansas side.
What do I need to do to prepare for the appointment?
If you are home, having your dog go potty before we arrive is always helpful! If you are not home for the appointment please have the pet contained for easy access.
What forms of payment do you take?
I try to send invoices at the end of each work day where you can pay with all major credit cards, or you can pay cash or check made out to MoKan Pet Care before I leave the appointment.

Do you come to apartments or condos?
I need at least 12' height clearance (no parking garages), wide open parking and ample turn around space for the 22' van. If you have all that, we are good to go!
Do you require vaccines?
Yes, I require rabies unless otherwise recommended by your veterinarian for adult dogs and cats, and puppies must have at least one round of distemper/parvo vaccines. I highly recommend getting yearly distemper/parvo and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine for adult dogs and the FVRCP vaccine for cats.
Can I stay with my pet during grooming?
Unfortunately for liability and insurance reasons, I cannot allow owners to be present in the van during the grooming process. I try to send pictures during the bath and before the haircut for you!
Do I have to be there for appointments?
For the first visit, I require the owner to be there at the start of the appointment at a minimum for a meet and greet and to go over grooming instructions. If there are no concerns going forward that would require you to be near, future visits can be without you home.
